Who is Tony Albrecht?

Tony is a former practicing attorney (J.D., Saint Louis University School of Law) turned founder and creative director of CONTENDER. He has written more LinkedIn posts for lawyers than almost anyone alive, and he built a 24,000-strong following doing the exact thing the coach now teaches: telling specific, human stories that cut through the noise.

Tony graduated law school in 2009 an alcoholic man-child, and hit bottom six months later — Thanksgiving night, in a jail cell on the island of Guam. He took his last drink on May 29, 2010. Sixteen years sober. He says it plainly: “high-functioning alcoholic is not a personality,” and “sobriety starts when substances stop calling the shots.”

Nothing came on the timeline he wanted. He chased a six-figure salary out of law school and didn’t clear $100k until his tenth year practicing. He’d wanted to write since he was eleven; he published his first book at forty. A month after that birthday, he started CONTENDER. These days he’s training for a hundred-mile backyard ultramarathon in his forties.
